Carlotta Lee Stevens
1931-2025
Loving Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt, Sister Carlotta Lee Stevens,94 Years Old of Wilton Manors Florida died peacefully surrounded by her children Julie and Craig. Carlotta was born in Princeton Indiana in 1931 to Lee and Retta Colvin. Her early years were spent with her sister, Dorita, in Princeton until they moved to Miami to be with her father and step-mother Vivian. She attended Miami High and had wonderful memories there. Her senior year is when she met the love of her life Sam on a blind date to a church picnic. After they were married they lived in Gainesville where Sam graduated with the GI Bill from University of Florida. They were excited to start their new lives together. Carlotta and Sam couldn't wait to start a family of their own and Craig and Julie meant the world to them. Though she loved tennis, traveling, and her cabin in Beech Mountain N.C. Carlotta's favorite role was that as a grandparent. She treasured her time with her grandkids, Alexandra, Samuel, Parker and Grace Carlotta and loved being their "Mimi" never failing to go to the bank to get a crisp $100 dollar bill to send in their birthday cards. She was so proud of her grandchildren. She was thankful to be a Great-Grandmother to Samantha Ann and Emma Jane. She was also a loving Auntie "C" to her nieces and nephew, Vicki, Kate, Jeanne, David, Leigh Ann, Terri and Katy. Carlotta volunteered at Craig and Julie's schools where she met her dear, and lifelong friend Mary Bush where they shared their passion for poetry. Carlotta was also an active member of the Wilton Manors Women's Club. Everyone who knew Carlotta knew how much she loved competitive tennis and played on the Tennis league at Wilton Manors. It was there she met the spirited and fun group of women and developed lifelong friendships of shared times and travels and legendary Stories. Carlotta will always be remembered as "Queen Carlotta" as coined by her beloved husband. We couldn't have asked for a better Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Aunt and Sister and will miss her everyday. Her memory will live in the hearts of all who loved her. Carlotta is survived by her son Craig Stevens (Ann Stevens), daughter Julie Stevens (Anthony Levy), Grandchildren Alexandra Graham (Matthew Graham) Samuel Hooper Stevens Levy, Parker Samuel Stevens, Grace Carlotta Levy. Great-Grandchildren Samantha Ann Graham and Emma Jane Graham. Nieces Vicki Gatanis, Kate Kinast, Jeanne Sims (Dale Sims), Leigh Ann Needham (Eddie Needham), Terri Sanborn (Preceded in Death) and Katy Sanborn. Great Nephew Oscar Dolan.
