Carl was the best brother anyone could have! I feel honored and privileged to call him brother, protector, friend, and family. He was genuine, and what you saw is who he was all the time. His word was his bond, as our grandfather Gingles used to say. His presence made this world a much better place. I know his death left a huge void in our family and in the lives of all of those he called friends. We love and miss him so much.

This man peaked in my window at Dallas Barbershop one day. I walked outside and asked if I could help him.
He asked, " Would you cut my hair"? I said, I sure will!
That started a great friendship that I'll never, ever forget! He was the kindest man and had an amazing soul! God gained an Angel for sure. We shared many good meals and conversations. You have your wings now, Carl....Fly My Friend

My heart! Mr. Jingles was honestly a light and guide for me through middle school. He truly looked after me in a way to where I always felt loved and protected. I am deeply saddened to hear of this, but I know the impact he has made and left is massive. An angel on earth truly. Couldn´t have made it through some times there without him. He will truly be missed

I loved him. We played ball together in 1974/1975. Saw him occasionally but while eating lunch with my granddaughter at WCF he came and sat with us and told me not to worry he would watch over my granddaughter. Love you brother and will be missed!!!!!!!!

I remember I was having a hard time after a kid dumped me in middle school lol I know haha but I remember sitting in the cafeteria at WCFriday crying and I felt a hand on my back and it was mr gingles rubbing my shoulder , he didn´t say anything but his presence brought me so much comfort! And I´ll never forget that moment , from that day forward he always went out of his way to speak to me and ask me how I was , Mr g impacted so many of us kids back then. I´ve recently graduated high school and I ran into Mr gingles at Qt in Gastonia and he just ran up to me with the biggest smile on his face and gave me the biggest hug and that just shows you that Mr gingles was the same person he was all them years ago and I´m so grateful for the years that I got to experience his bubbly joyful self! He was my middle school janitor and he was loved by many. He would treat us like his own and when we didn't have enough for our lunch he would give us money for snacks and give us gum. I would always skip class to find him and tell him what happened that morning and he would be there no matter what and He would tell me exactly what he thought about it and give me the best advice. When he retired, I would always walk or drive to his house to talk to him and rant and tell him about how my life was going. We would just check up on each other and catch up on life, even if we talked the day before. I loved our long conversations, we would just talk forever sometimes. I would vent to him about things and he would give me the best advice ever. He has always called me Double D and D Squared since middle school. He would always drive by my house to see if my mom and I were home to see how our day was going. He was like a father figure to me. You will always be loved and missed dearly.

I worked in the cafeteria at WC Friday Jr High. This is where I had the privilege of meeting Carl. For years I had a front row seat watching as he loved and treated these kids as if they were his own. If there was a problem he was right there with his wisdom leading these young people to a healing and victorious outcome. He was a friend to all. His morals. love, commitment, friendship and guidance were just a few of his crowning character traits. Not a day went by that he was not smiling or asking how he could help. One of his favorite subjects was his family, oh how he would beam when he spoke of y'all. We are all blessed that he was apart of our lives, I know he made a difference in mine. I am not sad for him, he now walks with our Heavenly Father. I find peace in knowing we will all see each other again. I can hear it now as he walked through those gates... Carlton! Welcome home! You had a life well lived. Until later, love you Carlton Gingles. Your friend and Co worker Shannon

I knew him as Mr.Gingles at my middle school and he would always talk to us students and see how we were doing throughout our day. I remember one time he stopped me when going to my next class and he told me I was a great young man and it really touched my heart and it meant a lot to me coming from him. May he rest in peace.

Such a wonderful man! He was so easy to talk too. If you was having a bad day, you best believe Mr. Gingles would be there to help you through it! After I graduated high school, he would drive by my house every so often just to say hey. He never forgot my face or name after all these years. You will be greatly missed. Rest in paradise Mr. Gingles!

I pray his family knows what a light he was to those around him. He was our school janitor years ago but most importantly he always greeted everyone and made them feel seen. I´m so thankful for the impact he had! Wow what a light I know he is shining bright on the streets of Gold!

In eighth grade, a few of us donated a total of around $100-150 (not sure, it´s been years). Anyways, we gave it to him for Christmas and the smile on his face was something I´ll never forget. He was always so sweet to us. I´ve always wondered how he has been doing. You will be missed, Mr. Gingles!!

I worked at WC Friday for many years while Mr. Jingles worked there. He was always so helpful and always added his encouraging words before he left your room. He was so good to the students and they loved him..my own two boys were among those he loved and they also loved him He followed them through their sports always asking about them and supporting them. He will have many jewels in his crown in heaven. Just a very good man who loved the Lord and did good things for people. The great mentor to our children at WCF. He was definitely part of the village as we taught and looked after our students. He will
