Carlton Patrick June, a beloved father, brother, life partner, Navy veteran, and cherished friend, passed away suddenly on July 10, 2025, in Dearborn, Michigan, at the age of 54. Born on March 27, 1971, in Garden City, Michigan, Carlton's life was characterized by his adventurous spirit, loving nature, and thoughtful heart.
Carlton's early years were spent in the city of his birth, where he was raised by his mother, Marilyn (Farris) Watt, his late father, Richard June, and his late step-father, Robert Lee Watt, alongside his older brother, Paul (Sherry) June. Carlton graduated from Garden City High School in 1989 and decided to serve his country in the military.
Carlton's dedication to his country was evident through his proud service as a Boiler Technician in the Navy, a period of his life that instilled in him discipline and a deep sense of patriotism. He served bravely in Operation Desert Storm, and the friendships that he made aboard the USS John F. Kennedy (CV-67) would last a lifetime.
After his time in the service, Carlton found joy in his role as a father to his daughters, Lexy (Noah Grimes) June and Lily June, whom he shared with his former wife, Heather Shaw. After 22 years of marriage, the bond he maintained with Heather was one of mutual respect and friendship, rooted in their shared love for their children. Carlton was the best father, not just because his daughters said so, but because he lived it with every fiber of his being. Carlton's love for his girls was only rivaled by his love for being their dad.
Carlton's heart was so full of love. He embraced Lori Maiden as his life partner, with whom he shared a genuine love that was filled with joy, laughter, and adventure. Carlton's family circle extended to include his "bonus children," Brooke (Max Livernois) Arcuragi and Steven (Kayla Irwin) Arcuragi, as well as the woman he affectionately called his "Other Mother," Karen (Kamel) Bouabida. Carlton found profound purpose in his family, and his love for them was truly limitless.
While a constant throughout his life, Carlton's Christian faith blossomed in his later years and he found solace each morning while reading his daily Bible devotion, a cup of black coffee in hand. Carlton's favorite Bible verse was Proverbs 3:5-6: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."
As an avid outdoorsman, Carlton loved spending time in nature. Whether it was hunting with his buddies, fishing with his daughters, or camping with his family, Carlton found peace and tranquility in the natural world.
Those who knew Carlton will remember him for his infectious positivity and his talent for lifting spirits. Carlton's humor was a source of joy for all who encountered it; in the presence of his silliness, you couldn't help but to crack a smile. His helping hand was extended to anyone in need, and his mentorship reflected his desire to share his knowledge and experience with others. In every project or hobby he undertook, Carlton gave more than his all, pouring his heart and soul into his endeavors with unparalleled dedication. He lived everyday by his self-proclaimed motto, "go big or go home!"
Carlton will be remembered as a man who was adventurous, loving, and thoughtful. His legacy is one of love, laughter, and an unwavering commitment to living life to the fullest. Though his sudden departure leaves a void in the hearts of those he touched, his memory will continue to inspire and guide us. Carlton Patrick June's spirit will live on in the stories shared, the lives he impacted, and the natural world he so dearly loved.
To honor his luminous spirit and pay homage to his favorite color, his family invites you to wear a touch of yellow while attending his service.
Service information will be provided soon.
