Carmen Espinosa was born in Waco, Texas, on July 16, 1935. She was the youngest of two children born to Victorio (Joe) and Josepha Espinosa. Carmen met her husband, Julian Bauer, while he was serving in the United States Air Force. They were married in Waco on August 30, 1958.

Together, Julian and Carmen had three children. Their son, Michael Anthony Bauer, preceded her in death. She is survived by her two daughters, Catherine Josepha Jeremenko and Patricia Marie Lanenga; seven grandchildren, Ted, Sam, Max, Ben, Luc, Abe, and Brandon; and five great-grandchildren, Eloise, Lucille, Patrick, Aliyah, and Mariella.

Carmen attended Waco High School and Waco Business College. She worked for five years as the private secretary to the Traffic Manager of the Southern Pacific Railroad. For the next twenty-four years, she served as secretary to the principals of Our Lady of Perpetual Help School, including Sr. James, Sr. Madeleva, and Barbara Coakley. She also served on the Auxiliary Executive Committee of the Dewey Lowman American Legion Post.

Carmen was deeply involved in her faith community at Our Lady of the Angels Church, where she served as a Pastoral Assistant, Eucharistic Minister, and choir member.

Carmen traveled the world with her husband, and together they watched their children and grandchildren grow and take on the responsibilities of life. It was a good life.
