Carmen Huidobro

Carmen Huidobro, a beacon of love and joy, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2025, in Greenwood, SC, at the age of 90. Born on December 22, 1934, in the vibrant country of Chile, Carmen's life was a tapestry woven with the threads of compassion, humor, and intelligence.

Carmen's early years in Chile were filled with the warmth of her family, including her late parents, Valentin Nuñez and Lucila De La Iglesia, and her sisters, Hilda, Gloria, and brothers, Celso, and Waldo. Her journey led her to the United States, where she continued to cultivate a life of service and care. As a Certified Nurses Assistant and Caregiver, Carmen touched the lives of many with her unwavering dedication and nurturing spirit. Her work was not just a job but a calling, as she provided comfort and support to those in need.

Her Catholic faith was the cornerstone of her existence, guiding her through life's challenges and joys. Carmen's belief in love and compassion was evident in every aspect of her life, from her professional endeavors to her personal relationships.

Carmen's zest for life was infectious. Her interests were as diverse as her personality, ranging from her love of reading to her passion for movies. The rhythmic beats of Flamenco music could often be heard in her home, a nod to her cultural heritage and her love for the arts.

Family was the heart of Carmen's world. She is survived by her loving children, Carmen H. (Roberto), Hernán, José Luis, and Francisco Rubio. Her legacy continues through her grandsons, Carlos (Allison), René (Ashley), and Roberto Andres, and her great-grandchildren, Catalina and Lucia, who will carry forward her spirit of love and vivacity.

Carmen's life was a testament to the power of laughter, the strength of intellect, and the depth of love. Her presence was a gift to all who knew her, and her memory will be cherished forever. As we bid farewell to Carmen Huidobro, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a soul that will continue to inspire generations to come.
