When I was a Temple University in the 70s I was a radio, television, film major. I had always wanted to be a radio personality. I called Bob at WCAM one night to make a request and we wound up discussing working in radio. He actually came to my house and had me do practice commercials. He coached me on what I was doing right and what I was doing wrong. Eventually, I did one commercial for him. I never forgot how kind and helpful he was even though I followed a different career path. I followed his career over the years and listened to him when I could. When I did, it was always with a smile because of the kindness he showed me that I never forgot. I know he will be missed. My condolences to his family.

This is sad news. I grew up around the corner from Bob and remember having many conversations with him when running into to him when he walked his dog. Bob was the first DJ to say my name on the radio. We stood in touch for many years. He will be missed by the many people who were lucky to have known him. We are praying for Bob, his family and friends. RIP my friend.

I had the pleasure of being a guest on Bob Charger's Morning Coffee show on RVN TV. I drove down from NH to the studios in Cherry Hill. Prior to the interview we shared breakfast at a diner up the road and had a wonderful conversation. The interview went very well and Bob asked some great questions about my main profession in the cell tower industry. Bob shared a wealth of knowledge about his experiences in the radio industry. Bob was very encouraging and supportive of my pursuits to getting back into radio and pointed me to some guidance from his airchecks and song intros. We exchanged Christmas cards every year and his words of encouragement were very inspirational. I send my most heartfelt condolences to Bob's family and friends.

I first met Bob at "Long John Wade's" American Academy of Broadcasting school when I was 15 years old. I knew then that he was destined for radio broadcasting. He had the voice, but more importantly he had the passion. We would do pretend radio shows from his room at home. RIP!!!!

I am so sorry to hear of Bob's passing. We worked together decades ago at WJBR in Wilmington - where I anchored weekend news and he did what he did best - spun great music while telling anecdotes only he would know with his vast knowledge. Our paths crossed again at WMID in Atlantic City in the '80's and he was one of the nicest people I ever worked with. God, he loved his craft. So glad he had the longevity he did in what can be a very ephemeral career choice for some. R.I.P., buddy. If there's a rock and roll heaven, you know they've got a helluva band. And a deejay to match.

Bob and I enjoyed some great conversations while we were both at WCAM in Camden. I was there from 1971 to 1980. As a part-timer, I did just about a little bit of everything there - more technical than not. However, many times I was given a late Saturday-night/early Sunday-morning shift as a jock - and I brought in my own 45 collection to spin and talk about. Bob would sometimes stop by on those nights to talk, joke, introduce me to a new girl he met, and help with the background info for some of the records. We loosely kept in touch, but when I started working full-time as a engineer, got married, etc., communication between us fell by the wayside - after all, he was starting to get around the radio/TV world in leaps and bounds. Last time we talked was about 20 years ago. I think if email had existed back then, or texting, we would have stayed a bit more in touch. The other funny moments we had were discussing our "radio names." Bob took the most teasing, since mine was my real name(s) just twisted around...I used "Randy Roberts." (not to be confused with another jock out there by the same name, years ago). I was very sorry to hear of his passing - especially with me being about 4 years old than he. I wish I would have been able to attend his funeral, but I understand his wishes. Here's to the Boss Jock of the Heavens!!

I met Carmen about 35 years ago. We had lots of long talks, some about radio, music, voice-over, and just life. We somehow lost touch over the years and just started talking (not as often) over the past few years. Gosh, sometimes you just think someone is going to be there forever. Rest in Peace, Carmen. You will be missed.

I remember sitting in The Melrose Diner with Carmen and his brother ,we had coffee and apple pie . We were there watching the crowd coming and going after the Phillies won the World Series in 1980 ! His brother laughed at sticking Bob with the bill ! Many was the time we met at a Charlie Gracie affair ,and he had no trouble drafting me to help with something . He enjoyed learning how his brother broke his ankle while playing hooky from school in the early 70's . A neighborhood boy doing well ,He will be missed .

When I did my 1st Podcast I reached out to Bob for advice. He immediately got back to me with tons of wisdom and guidance. He also showed me where my Dad's music was online. He was a master of his craft. Lunches with him, my Dad, and my Uncle Armand were always a treat at the Chinese buffet. I'll miss you being here, Bob. But I am sure you are now networking with the Rockin Angels above. Thank you for being a part of my life. Much love to you and your family.

Bob was an early mentor of mine and played a huge role in me getting on the radio at 19 years old. Bob took me under his wing and taught me the business. He didn't have to help me, but he did. In the 30+ years we were friends, he was always encouraging. I owe that man a ton. Rest in Peace my friend.

Bob and I became friends as fellow Broadcast Pioneers. We shared a love of radio and to be honest, his knowledge put me in short pants. He interviewed me as a guest on his TV show, and the more I got to know him, the more I realized just how good a person Bob was. Shortly after he interviewed me, he shared the health scare he went through, but was so thanful to be alive and doing much better. Like most, I was shocked by his sudden passing. From the outpouring on social media, it's quite evident how much he touched the lives of others. I am thankful for having been included as one of them. He will be sadly missed. Rest in peace Carmen Jacovini...and CHARGE! Paul Troy

In Frank Capra's classic movie, Clarence the angel reminds George how strange it is how ONE person's life touches so many other's. Especially someone who had a career like Carmen, or Bobby as we called him. He touched all the Philly bases. We crossed at WPGR. Just think of all of the station and all the shifts and all of the listeners he 'touched' every time he spoke. Job well done. Time to rest and get rewarded.

Carmen and I met in 1971 and we have been best friends ever since I am beside myself. This was unexpected. I only know that the compassion thawed Carmen showed me as an individual who is visually impaired will get him in to heaven. I know he is already there. God bless you Carmen
