Carmen Ramirez Prados passed away peacefully on January 7, 2026, at the age of 94 in Lacombe, Louisiana. Born on February 23, 1931, in New Orleans, Carmen was the cherished daughter of the late Hilario and Mary Perron Ramirez.
Carmen was a proud alumna of St. Mary's Dominican High School, Class of 1949, where she formed lifelong friendships and developed a foundation of faith that guided her throughout her life.
In her professional life, Carmen was fondly known as "Ms. Bobby" to the countless children whom she safely transported as a bus driver for the Jefferson Parish School Board. Bus 104 was more than just a vehicle; it was a place where Carmen's warm smile and kind words made every child feel special. Her dedication to her work was a testament to her character, and her presence is fondly remembered by many.
Carmen's heart was always with her family. She was a devoted wife to her late husband, Robert Raymond Prados, Sr., and a loving mother to her late son, Robert Raymond Prados, Jr. Her daughters, Cheryl P. Cospolich and Laurie P. Ware (David). Carmen's legacy continues to shine through her grandchildren, Brandy C. Hereford and Tiffany C. McGuffie, and her great-grandchildren, Grady Hereford and Blakely McGuffie.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff at St. Tammany Parish Hospital Hospice and the Lacombe Nursing Department and auxiliary staff for their exceptional care and attention during Carmen's final days. It was the compassionate treatment she received that allowed her to rest comfortably surrounded by the love of her family.
