Carmen Torres Mitchell

Carmen Torres Mitchell, a beloved matriarch and dedicated professional, was born on April 14, 1960, to Cecil and Victoria Torres. Carmen was a proud resident of Colorado, where she made significant contributions both to her family and to the workforce throughout her life.

Education was an important aspect of Carmen's life, having graduated from Medford High in 1975. This foundation set the stage for her lifelong commitment to learning and growth.

Carmen's career spanned various roles that showcased her versatility and unwavering dedication. As a homemaker, she nurtured her family with love and care, embodying the essence of a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her work as a cashier and tree trimmer with esteemed companies such as Asplundh Corporation and Davey Tree Company highlighted her determination and willingness to tackle any job with tenacity. Known for her expertise as a groundswoman and sawyer, Carmen earned a reputation as one of the fastest and most dedicated professionals in her field.

She was not only a fast learner but also a caring soul with a generous spirit. Carmen's love for cooking, gardening, and her ability to create a warm and inviting home left an indelible mark on those who knew her.

As a dedicated wife, friend and confidant to her husband Stephan, there was nothing she would not do for him. He will never forget how she love to hold hand and walk in the rain; a memory that will be etched in his mind forever.

A woman of faith, Carmen was an member of Leake Memorial Methodist Church, where her community involvement reflected her deep commitment to helping others. She possessed a remarkable ability to care for others and firmly believed in the power of kindness, always greeting friends and family with hugs and an open heart.

Carmen is remembered fondly for the loving phrases she often shared with her grandchildren, frequently saying, “Sleep With The Angels” as she tucked them in at night, and “Love You PaPa,” which embodied her heartwarming connection with family. Her love of life was evident in her joyous moments, embarking on road trips to explore the forests and rivers of Colorado, and cultivating beautiful gardens.

She is proceeded in death by her father, Cecil Torres.

Carmen is survived by her; loving husband Stephan Mitchell, mother, Victoria Torres; brothers, Adam and Cecil., sons, Levon, Shan, Sheridan, and Largo Mitchell; and grandchildren, Symone, MaLayna, Novella, Novel, Stephan, Josiah, Destiny, and Romello Mitchell. She also cherished her friendships with Mary Dodge and Ike Landreth, who stood by her through many seasons of life.

Carmen Torres leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and dedication to family and community. Her spirit will continue to guide and inspire those who had the privilege of knowing her.
