Carmen Lucille VandenBrook (Webb), age 56 of Gaylord, passed away peacefully at home on January 22, 2026. She was born in Saginaw, Michigan, on July 8, 1969, to Rodney and Linda Webb (Hendrickson).
She was a lifelong resident of the Gaylord area. Carmen worked in the Gaylord area as a waitress at various restaurants, including Big Buck Brewery, Big Boy, and Willoughby's. She also worked for several years at Gale Enterprises, an accounting firm in Grayling where she made every client laugh.
Carmen loved her family and friends and especially enjoyed spending time with all of them. She loved her dog Bandit who was always by her side and ready to protect her. In her spare time, she enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling, road trips, euchre, loved playing Monopoly with everyone, just shooting the shit, having a good laugh with family and friends and decorating for every holiday.
Carmen is survived by her father, Rodney Webb Sr.; husband, John VandenBrook; her children, Penelope "Sarah" (Tim) Umlor, Sydnea Esquivel, Jessica VandenBrook; grandchildren, Evelyn, Savanah, Korra, and Ezra; brother and sister, Rodney (Jenny) Webb Jr, Julia (Neil) Krumlauf II; and her large extended family and many friends that were loved as family.
Carmen was preceded in death by her son, Derick Esquivel and her mother, Linda Webb.
A memorial service will be held at 1:15 PM on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at Gaylord Community Funeral Home & Cremation Service where visitation will begin at 12:00 noon.
