James G. VandenBrook

James G. VandenBrook, age 91, of Bonduel, was taken into the Lord's hands on Thursday, February 29, 2024. James was born in Green Bay on August 29, 1932, son of the late George and Ida (Dingeldein) VandenBrook, Sr. Jim graduated from Bonduel High School. On September 24, 1955, Jim was united in marriage to Patricia A. Posselt at St. Paul Lutheran Church-Stony Hill, in Thornton. Patricia preceded Jim in death on August 4, 2012. In May of 1956 Jim was drafted into the United States Army and served his country honorably and proudly. Jim's life revolved around farming and family, Jim and Patsy farmed together for many years. They always enjoyed bowling with friends in Friday night couples league and later in their marriage they found a lot of joy traveling together, including numerous trips to Hawaii. Jim was also a proud member of the Town of Hartland Fire Department and the local Civic Association. He was a wonderful, quiet, and humble man and left an impact on everyone he met. A wonderful father, grandfather, and great grandfather will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
James is survived by: two daughters, Susan (Bruce) Hein and Amy (Jerry) Younk; three grandsons, Adam Hagel, Tyler (Amy) Rasmussen, and Justin (Tina) Rasmussen; seven great grandchildren, Drew Hagel, Mya Hagel, Nathaniel Rasmussen, Eli Rasmussen, Ruger Rasmussen, Parker Rasmussen, and Bailey Rasmussen; and a brother, David (Donna) VandenBrook. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He is preceded in death by: his wife, Patricia; his parents; and a brother George VandenBrook, Jr.
A funeral service for James will be held at 11:00am on Monday, March 4th, 2024, at Friedens Ev. Lutheran Church in Bonduel with Rev. David Ticks officiating. Military Honors and burial will be held at the church cemetery following the service. Visitation will be held at the Swedberg-Wendt Funeral Home in Bonduel on Sunday from 2:00pm until 6:00pm and again at the church on Monday from 9:30am until the time of the service. Memorials may be directed to the church, the humane society, or your local veteran's organization.
