Carol Lee Bast

Carol (nee Leonard) Bast of Hillsboro, Missouri, was born April 4, 1935, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Barbara Basteson and Jerald Leonard and entered into rest on Sunday, November 23, 2025, in Crystal City, Missouri, at the age of 90 years.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Bast; her brother, Jerry Leonard; and her son-in-law, John Kuelzle.

She is survived by her children, David Bast, Larry (Cathy) Bast, Ronald (Robin) Bast, Karen Kuenzle, and James Bast; her sister-in-law, Doris Leonard; nine grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Carol devoted her life to her family with an unwavering and gentle strength. She loved raising her five children and took great pride in preparing three homemade meals every single day, making her kitchen the warm heart of the household. She and her beloved husband, Clarence, cherished their time camping together, finding joy in the outdoors, deer hunting and the simple moments they shared. They also loved going dancing, where the two of them moved together with ease and happiness. Carol's warmth, consistency, and love created a foundation her family will forever treasure.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Highway 30, Cedar Hill, MO 63016. Funeral Ceremony will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Chapel Hill Mortuary. Interment will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Jefferson Barracks.
