February 25, 2023 at her home. She was born February 21, 1952 in Sault Ste. Marie, MI to Louis and Margaret Benoit (Causley).
Carol was a member of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians. She touched many with her loving spirit, kindness, ability to make you laugh, and even her awkwardness. Carol was known for her giving whether it be a trinket, jewelry, her sunglasses, a lighter, or even name a stuffed animal named after you. Everyone was special to Carol. She was one of a kind and had a heart of gold.
Carol is survived by her son, Louie Benoit of Sault Ste. Marie, MI; sister, Brenda
(Gary) Young of Indian River, MI; brother, Harold (Peggy) Benoit of Rexton, MI; grandchildren, Takoda Hauri and Sawyer; close cousins, Chris Causley of Sault Ste. Marie, MI, Melvin Causley of Petoskey, MI, Denise Causley of Sault Ste. Marie, MI, and Daniel Causley of Sault Ste. Marie, MI.
Carol is predeceased by her parents, Louis and Margaret Benoit (Causley); brother, Jerry Benoit; and sister, Deanna Benoit.
Visitation will be Saturday March 4, 2023 from 10:00am until 6:00pm at the Sault Tribe Cultural Center, 1 1 Ice Circle Chi Mukwa, Sault Ste. Marie, MI 49783.
Funeral Services will be at I :00pm with Father Brad Sjoquist Officiating.
Traditional Services will be at 4:00pm. Final resting place will be Wilwalk Cemetery on Sugar Island, MI. The family request's memorial contributions be made to, Clark Hovie Galer Funeral Home, 113 Maple St. Sault Ste. Marie, MI
49783, to help defer the cost of funeral expenses. Clark Hovie Galer Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
