Carol Berquist Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jan. 22, 2026.
Carol Dorothy Berquist, 87, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 17. We are confident she is enjoying a glorious reunion in Heaven with her beloved husband, Don, who passed away in 2002. She was also preceded in death by her dear sister, Donna, along with many relatives and friends.

Carol is survived by her son, Tomm (Barb) Berquist; daughter, Keri (Thor) Olufson; brother, Larry (Kitty) Hinrichs; and their families. She was a wonderful mother of faith and love and always strived to pass that on to her family. She prayed faithfully for her grandchildren: John (Emma) Berquist, Ellie (Jordan) Fulton, Daniel (Katie) Olufson, and Joe (Siera) Olufson. She adored them all. Carol also prayed for her great-granddaughters-Lucy, Zoey, Halle, Winnie, Ina, Phoebe, and Cleo-and her great-grandson, Cooper. GG loved them all so much!

Carol was beautiful, inside and out. She was a proud and devoted homemaker, a talented seamstress, master gardener, gourmet cook, and had a heart of gold for her precious dogs and birds. She also loved her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Special thanks to the caring staff at Lyngblomsten Lino Lakes, where she resided since June 2025, and to the Allina Hospice staff. A Celebration of Life will be held on February 14, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Living Faith Church in Circle Pines, followed by a light lunch and gathering at the church. Carol was interred on January 22 at Epiphany Cemetery in Coon Rapids.

In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made in her honor to Cities Cop Church, which ministers to first responders and their families, or to the Lyngblomsten Foundation.

We will deeply miss the physical presence of our beautiful prayer warrior but rejoice in knowing she is Surrounded by Glory. We Can Only Imagine!

"Well done, good and faithful servant!" (Matthew 25:23)
