Carol Biggs Obituary
Carol R. (Henry) Biggs, age 96 of near Darlington, passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2025. She was born at home near New Market on October 15, 1929 to Carl I. and Pearl (Whitecotton) Henry. Her mother died in 1935 and she was raised by her grandparents, William & Elizabeth Whitecotton.
On November 8, 1947 she married her high school sweetheart, Jerry Leon Biggs; he preceded her in death on January 18, 2018. They were married 70 years. Carol graduated from New Market High School in 1947. She was a retired Linotype Operator with R.R. Donnelley's for over 36 years and helped run the family farm.
She enjoyed sewing, knitting, quilting, genealogy, raising a garden and canning. She was very devoted to her family. She was a member of Freedom Baptist Church.
She is survived by her three grandchildren, Brian (Morgan) Biggs of Crawfordsville, Tracy (Brooks) Green of Carmel, and Cristy (Todd) Reed of Zionsville; twelve great-grandchildren, Kaleigh, Paytin and Addisyn Biggs; Penelope, Isidora, Beckham, Maverick, Zeppelin, Zoe Green; and Parker, Cooper, and Hudson Reed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Stephen Biggs in 2014; and three sisters, Avanelle Bowen, Beth Ausetts, and Ruth Shillings.
Visitation will be at Sanders Funeral Care, 315 S Washington St in Crawfordsville on Friday, December 12, 2025 from 1:00pm till the time of the funeral service at 2:00pm. Burial will follow at Freedom Cemetery. Share memories and condolences online at www.SandersFuneralCare.com.
