It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Carol Lynn (Anderson) Boyle, aged 75 on January 6, 2024. Carol's spirit departed peacefully, surrounded by her family after a 22-month battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born April 12, 1948, in Wichita, Kansas, to William Riley and Clara Genevieve Anderson, and sister to Michael Anderson, Carol is survived by her loving husband of 54 years Douglas Boyle, her son and daughter Mark and Amy, their spouses Xia (Miki) and Joël Boulvais, and her three wonderful grandchildren Lillian Boyle, Josse Boulvais, and Andrew Boyle.
Carol spent her life caring for others. After graduating from West High School in Wichita (1966), she attended nursing school at Wesley School of Nursing and became a registered nurse. She began her nursing career in the emergency room at Wesley Medical Center Wichita and held many nursing positions in Wichita and later Plano after the family's move to Texas in 1989.
Some of her proudest accomplishments, outside of her family and nursing, were organizing the volunteers at Hyde Elementary School and co-coordinating relief for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. She also assisted in grief counseling supporting those who have lost loved ones. She was a devoted member of the United Methodist Church. All through her life Carol was strong in her faith, which brought her comfort in her final days. She looked forward to being reunited with her son Jeffrey and grandson Caleb, both lost at birth in 1973 and 2018.
Carol will be greatly missed by her friends and family for her unwavering kindness, attentiveness, sense of humor, and her smile.
A memorial service to celebrate Carol's life will be held on Friday, January 12, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Custer Road United Methodist Church, Plano, Texas. If you wish to join the service via webcast, please visit: http://crumc.org/
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (pancan.org) or the Visiting Nurse Association (vnatexas.org).
The family would like to thank Texas Oncology as well as the Visiting Nurse Association for the care they provided in her final years as she battled cancer.
