Carol J. Cherepko

Carol Jean Cherepko, age 83, of Valparaiso, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, in Valparaiso, Indiana. She was born on June 7, 1942, in Gary, Indiana, to Elmer and Adele (Borg) Isaacson.

Carol is survived by her daughter, Susan Mizgate; grandchildren, Bradley Skyler Mizgate and Olivia Mizgate. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert M. Cherepko; father, Elmer Isaacson; mother, Adele Isaacson.

Carol was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She and her husband, Bob, owned and operated their car business together for 30 years and shared a love for attending car auctions side by side. She valued time spent with family and friends, especially gathering around the table for board games and card games, where laughter and a little competition were always part of the fun.

Carol loved her dogs, nature, and quiet moments looking out at the lake. As the granddaughter of Emily Chellberg, she carried strong roots connected to Chellberg Farm, where our family spent years walking together and making memories. She treasured simple visits, time together, and the relationships that meant the most to her.

Memorial Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, IN 46304.
