Carol J. Cole, 84, wife of 42 years to the late Robert R. Cole Sr., passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, September 25, 2025. She was born in Albany to the late Glen and Emma Quiggle.
Carol was a lifelong resident of the capital district, and had a joy for participating and contributing to said community. In her younger years, she was a performer in the Albany Civic Theatre. Later, she became a member of Pine Grove Church as well as a member of the choir.
Professionally, she worked over 40 years for New York State Audit and Control department as well as for the Retirement System.
In her free time, Carol enjoyed a number of things including playing the piano, going to concerts, the theatre, or the casino, and playing with her dogs her and her husband shared. She also loved traveling. In particular, she enjoyed her time in Virginia Beach, Florida and Las Vegas. Carol's favorite vacations were the ones spent with family. In the summer, she would go with Robert and their grandchildren to their summer camp in Wanakena, NY. While there, Carol and Robert would canoe race, which she loved doing. Any other time, Carol would be found missing her family, awaiting the next gathering.
Carol was known to love having fun and did so wherever she was.
In addition to her parents and husband, Carol was predeceased by her daughter, Donna White, stepson David Cole, and son in law, Daniel K. DiPace Sr.
Carol is survived by her daughter, Lori (David Coon) DiPace, and step children, Robert R. (Carolyn) Cole Jr. and Tracy L. Johnson. Her sisters, Lenore Kent and Barbara(Mike Riley) Lombard. Her grandchildren: Daniel K. (Anna) DiPace, Beau A. (Deanne) DiPace, Blake M. (Samantha) DiPace, Tanner B. DiPace, Walker B. DiPace, Vienna Silvia, Alanna (Dakota) Reyes, Zacary R. Cole, Samantha J. (Nicholas) Blackburn, Megan L. (Adam) Herman, and Andrea J. Cole. Her nine great grandchildren, as well as several niec and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday October 1st, from 9AM to 11AM at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie, NY 12205, with a service to immediately follow. Burial will follow services and will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery and Memorial Park, 983 Watervliet Shaker Rd., Albany, NY 12205.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Carols 10 year battle with Alzheimer's to the Alzheimer's Association
