Carol Sue Compson, 84, of Clifton, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2025, following an extended illness. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, Carol Sue's warmth, strength, and vibrant spirit touched the lives of everyone who knew her.

Carol Sue dedicated her life to caring for others, working for many years as a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA). Her nurturing heart extended far beyond her profession-she was always the first to offer help, a listening ear, or a comforting word. Known for her famous banana splits on the 4th of July, she brought joy to every family gathering with her thoughtful touches and unmatched hospitality.

Always stylish and put together, Carol Sue never left home without a perfectly coordinated purse. She adored her collection of crystal knick-knacks and found joy in the simple pleasures of life, like watching her favorite TV shows, Everybody Loves Raymond and The Golden Girls.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 38 years, Ernest Compson, who will miss her dearly; her loving children Terry and Tabitha Hawkins, Sherry-Sue Lewis, and Mark Compson; and her treasured grandchildren Justin and Kayla Bailey, Tierra Hawkins, and Alisha and Sandi Compson. She was also the proud great-grandmother of Emersyn, Oaklynn, Jasmine, Dechlan, Kayden, and Hunter.

Carol Sue is also survived by her siblings Nancy King, Phyllis Painter, Dreama Truman, Judy Samples, and Sonny Hess, as well as several nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.

She was preceded in death by her beloved sons Tony Dale, Billy Junior, and Timothy Scott, and by her sons-in-law Barry Johnson and Randy Lewis.

A celebration of Carol Sue's life will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Deal Funeral Home, with visitation beginning at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Kirkland Memorial Garden in Point Pleasant, West Virginia. Family and friends are warmly invited to attend and share memories.

Carol Sue's legacy of love, generosity, humor, and unwavering devotion to her family will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew her.
