With broken hearts the Cullen Family announces the passing of Carol Mae Cullen on Tuesday 11/18/25 at Life Care Center of Hickory Woods in Antioch, TN.
Carol was born in Waltham, MA the only child of the late Chester and Marion (Chambers) Johnson. Knowing she loved and wanted to teach children, she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Framingham State College in Framingham, MA and spent many years teaching third grade.
Carol was the devoted wife of Robert P. Cullen, Sr and celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on 7/17/25. During their time together they lived in MA, NC and TN. Carol was Mom to three children, Cheryl (Joey) King, Robert (Valerie) Cullen and Brian (Nicole) Cullen. Carol loved cake decorating, shopping, reading, the beach and especially loved traveling and spending time with her grandchildren, Luke, Nicholas, Katelyn, Sydney, Bradley and Blake as well as great granddaughters Brooklyn and Savannah and numerous grand fur babies.
Carol was blessed to grow up as close as sisters with her cousin Jane Patricia Saulnier and childhood friend and college roommate Jan Butler. Her friendly smile and personality blessed her with two long-time special friends, Lynne Myers and Margaret Irwin.
Visitation will be Tuesday, 11/25/25, at 10:30am at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home. 9090 TN100, Nashville, TN., with the funeral service starting 12:30pm. Burial will be Tuesday, 11/25/25, at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery at 2:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital
