Carol Ann Della Vecchia, 83, wife of the late Lawrence Joseph Della Vecchia, of Walhalla, passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at her home.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, Mrs. Della Vecchia was the daughter of the late Harold and Dorothy (Kloman) Squires. While in New York, she worked as a secretary for the New York state government. She wore many different hats in being a ceramic store owner, painter, a member of the clown ministry for ill children, and sang in Sun City Singer choir in Bluffton, SC. Mrs. Della Vecchia took pride in being a great grandmother and was a feisty and devout Christian, serving as a youth coordinator within her church, for more than 20 years. Her first love was singing in choirs.
Mrs. Della Vecchia is survived by her son: Eugene Tarver, Jr. (Tara); daughters: Stacey Quintal (Anthony) and Denise Della Vecchia (Ritchie Mason); brother: David Squires (Caroline); sisters: Barbara Jean Trentacoste and Sandra Mercurio (Phillip); grandchildren: Johathan Tarver, Christopher Wilson, Alexandra Martinez, and Michaela Quintal; and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her loving husband and parents, Mrs. Della Vecchia was preceded in death by a brother-in-law: Peter Trentacoste.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at Davenport Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM, prior to the service, at Davenport Funeral Home.
Interment will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, October 27, 2025, at MJ Dolly Cooper Veteran's Cemetery in Anderson, SC.
Flowers are accepted, or memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org or Lupus Foundation of America at www.lupus.org.
The family is at their respective homes.
