Carol Jean (Miller) DeWall, 72, of Rockford, Il passed away Wednesday March 29, 2023. She graduated from Muldoon High School in 1968. Carol worked at Camcar Textron her entire career. She was a long-time parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church. She belonged to The Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, where she served as President; American Lombardi club Women's Auxiliary and The Verdi Club Women's auxiliary where she enjoyed socializing, participating in events and playing bocce ball.
She is survived by her husband Gary Dewall; Sister-in-law Mary (Miller) Heinrich (Kurt); nephews, Michael Miller- Farrar (Blaze Farrar), Robert Miller (Heidi), Thomas Miller (Tina); nieces, Marie Groom (Norman), Karen Monacelli (Gerardo), Kristine Hockinson (Dan); great nephews, Joshua and Nathan Miller (Amanda), and their mother Jennifer Shattuck-Trylong; great nieces Flora and Sara Monacelli; Gary's children Lorri Scheider (Scott), Jennifer Wuori (Wester), Dennis DeWall; grandchildren, Renee and Andrew Scheider, Alex Kristen Wuori, Heather Cruz, Christina Hamilton, Amy DeWall; great-grandchildren Caleb and Adriana Cruz and Penelope Hamilton. Carol was predeceased by her parents Albert and Jenny Miller and brother Robert A Miller.
A visitation will take place on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Road, Rockford, Illinois 61108. Visitation will continue Wednesday, April 12, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral Mass, 11:00 a.m., at Holy Family Catholic Church, 4401 Highcrest Road, Rockford, Illinois 61107.
