I was saddened to learn of Carol's death. I don't read my email often, so I missed the chance to attend the memorial/celebration. She was a wonderful person and a fixture in District 44 DFL politics. It won't be the same without her.

Carol and I met when I was 12 years old. As teenagers we spent many hours together at the park playing card games. Carol taught me how to play cribbage and I still enjoy the game. As you know, we were both in the Mrs. Jaycees at the same time and traveled to many conventions together. Carol got involved in politics in my kitchen helping with DFL campaigns. We both loved being involved in organizations and helping leave the world a better place.

Carol was a loyal friend you could trust and depend on. She will be missed by many friends. I hope you will keep in touch with me, it was great to see you at the celebration in St. Paul.

Sincerely, Joyce McCarron Carlson

Carol has been a part of my life since we were 7 years old. We met during second grade at Bancroft Elementary School, when we were in Brownie Scouts together. Carol's mother, Elphie Flint, was our Brownie & Girl Scout leader. Our friendship continued through teen-age and into adulthood. We drifted apart after I moved away from Minneapolis, but I saw her from time to time when I returned for visits, and I kept up on news about her from mutual friends. I saw her last summer at my mother's funeral. I was pleased to see her and flattered that she came to my mother's service. It's a shock to no longer have that long-term friend in one's life. Carol will be missed.
