For those who knew Carol, it will come as no surprise that she wanted the final word, so we are sharing this obituary that she wrote herself.
Carol (Sue) Dunning was born in St. Joseph on March 20, 1944, to Harold and Leota Schaus. On Jan. 16, 1965, she married James Dunning. They shared 53 years together 'til his death in 2018. Surviving are their three children: James Jr., Kelly and Scott; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Preceding in death are her parents and two brothers: Harold and Darrel.
"We can't change the direction of the wind but we can adjust our sails to always reach our destination." We have reached our destination and our ashes will be scattered at a private burial.
Always forgave, never forgot!
