Carol Evenson Obituary

Publish in a newspaper

The family of Carol Cozette Evenson of Plymouth, MN are saddened to announce her passing on November 26, 2025 at the age of 83.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband Darrell "Butch," parents Bill and Norma, brothers Billy and Richard, son-in-law Mike, and grandchildren Enrico and Brittney.

Carol is survived by children Tammy Howe, Terry (Todd) Heineman, Tim (Wes) Evenson, Tom (Melissa) Evenson. Grandchildren Andrew (Abby), Nicole (Ethan), Keegan, Dillon (Maddie), Jesus and Kelsey. Great grandchild Michael. Sisters Marsha, Susie, Ginny, Lisa. Brothers Bobby and Kenny. Plus, several grand dogs.

Carol and Darrell married in 1959. They welcomed their first child in 1962. Every 2 to 3 years they welcomed another child until they had their set of 4, two girls and two boys.

Carol took great pride in her children. She attended marching band concerts, choir concerts, theater productions, hockey games and other sporting events. Nothing gave Carol more joy than to see her children, active and thriving, in everything they participated in. She took great pride in her children and all of their accomplishments.

Carol loved to create things with her hands whether it was woodworking, making cards or sewing. She, along with her sisters, owned and operated "Sugar Plum Boutique." For a number of years, they hosted an annual show in her home, as well as participated in multiple craft sales in the area. It gave Carol great pleasure to create something special that would catch your eye.

Carol loved being a grandma. Her grandparent years were some of the best years for Carol. She would spoil each grandchild with something special just for them. Something that was unique and reflected their personalities. At the end of every gathering, Carol would call each grandchild over to her for a hug and kiss goodbye. It didn't matter how old the grandchild was, she believed the best thing in the world was to get a hug and kiss from her grandchild.

Carol had a passion for life. She gave the glory to God for everything she had and everyone she came in contact with. Even during difficult times, Carol faithfully participated in church and had her daily bible and devotional readings in the quiet of her home. She loved the Lord and gave him many thanks for the good things in her life and asked the Lord for strength during difficult times.

Up until the end, Carol maintained her kindness, grace, compassion and love for her family and friends.

Interment Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Service Friday 12/5 at 11:00am with visitation 1 hour prior at Vision of Glory Lutheran Church 13200 Highway 55 Plymouth, MN 55441 763-539-4222.
