Carol Jean Haugdahl, 83, of Cleveland, MN passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2025.
A Private Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
Carol was born October 31, 1941 to Robert and Irene Meyer (Pelzel) in New Ulm, MN. She was baptized at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye, MN. Carol graduated from Saint Peter High School in 1959. Later that year, Carol was united in marriage to Sam Haugdahl and together, they had five children. Years later, Carol was united in marriage to Dave Poncin and blended their families together.
Carol loved to care for people and turned that passion into a career, as a nursing aide. She worked at Community Hospital HCC from 1984 until her retirement in 2011. Carol enjoyed bird watching, playing BINGO, and spending quality time with her family and best friend of 65 years, Sharon Lynch.
Carol is survived by her children: Brad (Tena) Haugdahl, Dee A. Dahlke (Wes Haglund), Steve (Paula) Haugdahl, Jon (Kathy) Haugdahl, Jim (Sadie) Haugdahl, Tim (Lorraine) Poncin, Chris Poncin; 20 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren with one on the way; one great- great grandchild; brothers: Bob (Lorna) Meyer, Dan Meyer; sister-in-law: Kasandra “Sandy” Swenson; nieces and nephews; best friend, Sharon Lynch.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Dave Poncin.
