Penelope Dahlink: Heavy sigh.... Every time I look at a picture of us (and there are quite a few) I think of you and remember all the fun times we had. You are missed by many but live on in our memories.

Dearest Auntie Carol/Penelope Dahlink - I miss our email chats over the years since you first joined us on the catamaran in the BVI's and then in Australia. You became my "2nd Aunt" and a true and dear friend. I will always treasure the many, many memories I have of you.
"The tide recedes but leaves behind bright seashells on the sand. The sun goes down, but gentle warmth still lingers on the land. The music stops, and yet it echoes on in sweet refrains. For every joy that passes, something beautiful remains."
And that is how I choose to remember you always. All my love and sympathy to Heidi, PJ and your family.

I am so sorry that Carol has been taken from her family & friends. She was a wonderful person. We will all miss her smiling face, and joyous laugh, but know that someday we will be with her again.

To my cousin Scott.and Aunt Pj. There are no words to express how sad and upset that my Auntie Carol is no longer with us. She was my dad's younger sister, who gave her the nickname Dabbie ding dong bell. And the Dabbie stuck for so many years. I asked her how she had Dabbie as her email and that's when she told me the story. I have so many amazing memories of her. Our talks and as cousin Heidi said she was so quick not to judge just give us a different view on things. Our phone calls aways ended with I love you and she would say I love you more. Breaks my heart so very much she will never kid me about "act like ,look like talk like, walk like me, your Auntie and we would laugh. She was one of a kind and kind being that special word. I could go on and on of memories. Fly high Auntie. You are so loved and missed. Rest in Heaven . I will miss and love you deeply. Your niece Anita

" she never met a stranger". The moment I met Carol, she became a friend. I have enjoyed all her comic emails subsequently. My sympathies to her family.

Rest in Peace Carol. It was an honor to have met and known you, even for such a short time and only as a business client, you treated me with kindness and respect. I know you were greeted by your loved ones on the other side who preceded you in death and that brings me peace hearing the sad news of your passing.

In is with inconsolable sadness that I share the news of my Aunt Carol's passing this past Wednesday evening. She was my Mom's big Sister and our family's beloved Aunt Carol. Our hearts are so heavy right now as this was very unexpected. She became very ill so very quick. My mother and sister, Shani along with her son, Scott and grandson, Seth, were by her side when she left this earth.

So many of you, my friends, had the joy of meeting her as you passed through Sedona, Arizona or Alta Loma, California while on vacation and at many of our family functions in Columbus through the years.

On behalf of my Mother, she wishes you to know that her sister was truly a mensch and had an amazing life filled with joy, the most adoring family, lasting friendships and love of country. Aunt Carol was a loving mother, doting Grandmother and the best Auntie and cousin in the world. Her circle of sustainable loving friends were boundless. She tried to help as many that crossed her path...including strangers that just needed kindness.

From her days with her sister being raised on the farm, her parents taught her the love and respect of the land. The cheerleading squad and home economics awards with her sister at Groveport High School, to being woman fire Marshall, her days were forward thinking and did what she could to be a good citizen of the Earth. At a late age, she even went back and earned her college degree in architecture and interior design.

Traveling the world and seeing as much as she could were glorious. And, I had the honor of accompanying her on many of those times. And, talk about politics....No one that I know could hold a candle to her when it came to discussing the facts and debating a point. But, the true testament of her character was that she was a loving and caring daughter to her Mother, our Grandmother, Ginger. Aunt Carol had the friendship of all friendships with her Mother. And, just thinking of her right, this was truly what stands out.

A celebration of her life will be planned in Sedona in the near future. Here are just a few of the thousands of photos taken over the years. You will get a glimpse of her ZEST for life....

I loved my Auntie Carol with all my heart. She was not just my Aunt. She was my best friend. The one you could share all your secrets with, who never judged...was there to ship me into shape when I was taking the wrong turns in life and was there every step of the way to root me on in my business goals and achievements. I cannot begin to tell you what she meant to me. I was her HEIDI HO POTATO and she will forever and always be my AUNTIE Carol
