Carol Hoover Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Pensacola Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home - Pensacola on Feb. 12, 2026.
Carol Joann Hoover (nee LeRoy), age 91 of Andover, MN, passed away peacefully with her family in Cantonment FL on February 8, 2026.

Carol was a devoted Catholic and a member of Epiphany (MN) and St. Jude Thadeus (FL) churches.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years Gregory and dear brothers Edward, Norbert and Robert LeRoy. She is survived by her son Jeffrey, son David, daughter Sharon Hettrick (Douglas), grandchildren Susan Beck, Brooke Vance, Mitchell Hoover, Christopher Hoover, Amber Durfey, Ashley (Miguel) Corral, Thomas (Mary) Hettrick, Nicholas Hettrick, and Haley (Alex) Jonas, 12 Great Grandchildren and many dear friends and relatives.

Carol was born and raised in Milwaukee's south side and attended Mercy High School. After high school, she met the man of her dreams, Gregory Hoover, at a dance at the Eagle's Club and they were married in 1952. Greg was drafted shortly after the wedding and assigned duty in Anchorage. Carol often spoke fondly of their modest early life on the army base in Alaska. After the army, the Hoover's established their home and family in New Berlin, WI and loved their life on Wildwood Drive. She was a devoted wife and Mother who loved singing, dancing, golf and playing games (especially Bridge!) and spending time with family. Greg and Carol moved to Andover, MN in 2005 and Carol spent the last 3 years in Cantonment FL with her son Jeff.

A visitation will be held at Epiphany Church in Coon Rapids, MN on February 27th 2026, with 9:30 visitation and 10:30 mass.

In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, donations may be made to Epiphany Catholic School (Epiphany.mn.org).

The family also sincerely thanks Nina Durkopp for her heartfelt care for Carol.
