Carol A. Hudecek
Age 85, of Shorewood, Illinois and formerly Brookfield passed from this life Saturday morning, May 25, 2024 at Lightways Hospice Home of Joliet.
Carol was born Christmas day in 1938 to the late Mary (Grassi) and Edward Gibicki.
She is survived by her sisters, Christine Bellechasse and Linda (Scott) Karner; nieces, Gina (Jacob) Sutherland, Linda Wood, Holly Karner and Kate (Gunner) Bessigano; several great-neices and nephews; and she was also a dear step-mother and grandmother to many who she leaves to cherish her memory.
Preceded in death by her husband, John Hudecek; her parents, Mary and Edward Gibicki; and sister, Jane (Joe) Pasquale.
Carol was employed by AT&T and Pitney Bowes for many years. During baseball season, she could be found cheering for the Chicago Cubs, being a devoted fan. She enjoyed bowling and going to the casino. Carol cherished her many beloved dogs that she cared for over the years. She also loved to collect cardinal bird items. Being a "Christmas Baby," she especially enjoyed celebrating the Christmas season with her family and friends.

A visitation for Carol will be held Friday, May 31, 2024, 4:00 p.m. until the time of Funeral Service at 7:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.), Joliet, IL. As it was Carol's wish cremation rites will be accorded following her visitation and her final earthly remains will be interred at St. Adalbert Cemetery in Niles, IL at a later date.
