'Chele was a vibrant person to all she met and a devoted partner to Barbara Baxter. She touched so many people by her photography and her love of live music. She is truly missed.

I never met anyone so in love with life and lived life to the fullest with her life partner Barbara, as "Michele" Jacques did. On my many visits to their home they made me feel like part of the family and I couldn't wait to get back again. THOSE were some of the best memories of my life. I'll always be here for you Barbara.

I have so many wonderful memories of Michele. Taking photos of our dance recitals, enjoying St. Patrick's Day every year, Christmas parade parties, and of course The edge of America in so many places there. Even Clemson football games during your stay! Oh, and the tennis. I will miss you girl.
Barbara, my thoughts and prayers are with you.

puppy love. we were playmates when she lived on Bull St. next to Avery institute and i lived on Gadsden. we were 6 and 7. then she moved, and later we moved. came together in the projects when we were 10 and 11. we became boyfriend and girlfriend. i found a lost dog and received a $10 reward. we went to the movies and for the first time held hands in the dark. wonderful memories of playing with her and her little brothers mark and eddie. her mother loved me. her grandparents, papa and sweetie would take us over the Cooper to the Power Company Clubhouse on sullivan's island. to poor people living in the projects this was a big thing. i met beverly hafers and sally seebeck, who i think were cousins i ran afoul of the authorities and on my 12 birthday was sent to a children's home in Columbia for two years. lost all contact with carol, but papa and sweetie, living in columbia, would come get me from the Home some sundays and i'd spend the day with them. papa even took me to the gamecock foolball games. he was a big fan. he even carried a parakeet in it's cage to the games. i lost contact with carol then and although we both were within 10 miles of each other our entire lives i never saw her again. wonderful memories i guess because it was first love. condolences to everyone. larry agee

Dearest Barbara, I'm sorry I won't be there with you in this difficult time, but I'll be there in spirit. I pray for peace in your heart and may Michele rest in peace.
I love you.
