Carol J. Jochimsen, 75, of Medford, passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at her home.
A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m., Friday, October 20, 2023 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Rev. Nancy Amacher officiating. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery II, Medford.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 12 p.m. Friday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated and may go to St. Paul's Lutheran Church in her honor.
Carol was born April 7, 1948 in Wausau to Frank and Claribelle Halopka. She grew up on her family's farm in the town of Deer Creek and graduated from Medford High School.
In 1966, she married Jerry Jochimsen. They resided in Medford where Carol worked at Farmers State Bank in Stetsonville, then Mid-Wisconsin Bank in Medford, and finally at Huotari Construction, retiring as their office manager in 2018.
Carol was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Medford where she was an active volunteer with the food pantry and the Giving Tree at Christmastime. She was an avid reader and enjoyed time at the library. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Jody (Angela) Jochimsen of Medford; grandchildren, Alex (Hillary) Jochimsen of Medford, Heather (Chris) Fruit of Cloquet, MN; step-grandchildren, McKenzie (Ryan) Reichenbach of Edgar, RaKelle Albrecht of Richland Center, Kamry Albrecht of Eau Claire; great-grandchildren, Ivy, Kingsley, Daxton, Xion and Eagan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jerry in 1975; her in-laws, Lee and Verna Jochimsen; and her brother, Donald Halopka.
