Carol passed away at the age of 80 on Christmas Eve surrounded by many loved ones at her side. Carol was born and raised in Bozeman, Montana. She and was the third of 5 children.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Adam and Audrey (Lawrence) Zindler, sisters and brother Dorothy Bailey, Margaret Kraft and Adam (Fred) Zindler, daughter Tammy Houghtaling and son Walter (Walt) Marquart. She is survived by her brother Dennis Zindler of Bozeman, daughter Sandra (Houghtaling) Lohss, son In-law Michael Lohss, grandsons Tanner and Dylan Lohss who live in Missouri.
Carol loved family gatherings, game nights, cooking, gardening, fishing and the random road trips with her brother, Dennis Zindler. There wasn’t an animal that she didn’t adore. She was very proud of her grandsons and enjoyed talking about them when given the opportunity to brag.
Carol worked at the Gallatin Laundry in Bozeman for many years and at the Salvation Army thrift store. She loved working with people.
Her daughter would like to thank all the family who were her rock in 2025 for which there are no words. Gary Bailey, Dennis Zindler, Darcy (Zindler) Gee, Jeanne Zindler and Robert (Bob) Kraft all from Bozeman area. She would also like to express her gratitude to Big Sky Hospice for their support and guidance, as well as to the employees of Gallatin Rest Home that cared for her mom these last nine months.
A celebration of life will be held later in 2026.
