Carol Ann Kilgus

Carol Ann Kilgus, a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on October 18, 2025, at the age of 84 in Columbia, Maryland.
Born in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, Carol was the beloved daughter of Herbert and Alice Williams. She was a kind-hearted and thoughtful woman, always ready to lend a hand and help others. She found joy in reading, solving puzzles, playing cards, and especially loved hearing stories from her daughter and grandchildren. Her greatest happiness came from spending time with the people she loved most.
Carol devoted more than 40 years to teaching middle school special education, spending a majority of her career at Clarksville Middle School. She was admired for her kindness, patience, and unwavering commitment to helping every student succeed.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Gregg Matis, of Mystic, Connecticut, and her cherished grandchildren, Calvin and Julianna, who adored her deeply and will forever carry her love in their hearts. She also leaves behind many lifelong friends who felt like family, each of whom played an important role in her life.
Carol will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and unwavering care for others. Her legacy will live on in all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
A private service will be held by family and friends to celebrate Carol's life.
