Carol Kurian Obituary

Born in Marquette on August 20, 1942, to Fred and Grace (Reau) Pleau, Carol was raised in Marquette and attended local schools. She worked as a housekeeper for various local businesses and was a dedicated mother and homemaker. Carol enjoyed swimming, dancing, walking, and spending time at Lake Superior. She especially loved activities with her grandchildren, including trips to the beach and the state fair. She also had a deep love for animals and was known for her generosity and outgoing nature.
Carol is survived by her six children: Marie LeBlanc of Marquette, Tina (Chico) LaCourt of Oconto, WI, Jimmy Kurian of Gwinn, Cheryl Crampton of Stephenson, MI, Karen Bartels of Texas, and Paul Kurian of Sands, MI; eleven grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on June 21, 2025, at Presque Isle Park, starting at 1:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter (UPAWS).
