Carol Lauff Obituary

Carol Ann Lauff, 63, of Ore Bed Rd., Philadelphia, NY, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She married Ronald W. Lauff on October 6, 1984 in Export, PA and later had a daughter, Rachael Ann (Matthew) Ellis, born in Fort Stewart, GA. Additionally, she had three grandchildren, Liam, Katelyn, and Olivia. She was born in Greensburg, PA, to William G. and Evalyn R. Marsiglio and spent her early childhood in Export, PA, where she attended Duff Elementary, then middle and high school attending Franklin Regional in Murraysville, PA. After her graduation, she worked as a secretary at Bank's Engineering in Export, PA. During her time in Export, PA she was active in the First Presbyterian Church and served as a Sunday School Teacher and volunteered for the Export Volunteer Fire Department. After marrying Ronald she moved to Chesterfield County, VA where she was employed by the county as a secretary for several county offices. Her next job, she was employed by the PX, Fort Stewart, GA. Thereafter, moving to Fort Drum, NY, where she was employed by the PX and Commissary, retiring in 2016. Her favorite job was a mother and grandmother, as her family meant everything to her. In September 1998, she and Ronald purchased a small farm in Philadelphia, NY, where she cultivated a large garden and raised chickens, pigs and goats. She took pride in canning "putting up" the summer harvest. Carol was predeceased by her mother, Evalyn R. Marsiglio, whom she cared for until her passing, in their home. Her sisters, Doris Artman of Delmont, PA, Victoria Marsiglio, Export, PA, Sue Cook of Ravenna, MI and a sister-in-law, Sherri Marsiglio of Chesterfield, VA. She is survived by her husband, Ronald of Philadelphia, NY, a daughter, Rachael Ann (Matthew) Ellis, three grandchildren, Liam, Katelyn and Olivia of Merritt Island, FL, her father, William G. (Sandy) Marsiglio, Sr. of Blairsville, PA and a brother, William G., (Cheryl) Marsiglio, Jr., of Church Rd., VA. Carol's remains will be handled by Frederick Bros. Funeral Home in Theresa, NY. A memorial service will be held on the family farm in Philadelphia, NY, with a date to be announced later. In lieu of flowers or donations, the family asks that you hold your loved ones close and tell them you love them, often, as tomorrow isn't promised.
