Carol Lay Obituary

Published by Legacy on Nov. 20, 2025.
Carol J Lay

Born on July 3, 1934 in Antigo, WI, Carol's journey through life was marked by her unwavering spirit and the joy she brought to those around her. On November 17,2025, Carol passed away peacefully surrounded by family, leaving behind a legacy of love and and service.

Carol was the beloved wife of the late Edward F Lay, and together they built a life filled with laughter and devotion. She was a nurturing mother to her children, Jeanne Miller and her friend Brian, Mary Doll and her husband (Dan), John Lay and partner Debbie, Karen Schulz and her husband (Steve). Carol's role as a grandmother to Emily, Eric, Heidi and Nick was one she cherished deeply, and her love extended to her six great -grandchildren, who adored her in return. She will be missed greatly by her best friend, Carolyn.

Throughout her career as a medical office receptionist, Carol's warm smile and dedication to her work was matched only by her commitment to her Christian faith, which guided her in all aspects of life. Carol's interests were a reflection of her caring personality. She found solace in crocheting, creating beautiful pieces that were often gifted to loved ones. Her desire to help and serve others were evident in the ways she would lend a hand to those in need. Carol was an avid reader, always keen to explore new worlds through the pages of a book. Playing cards with family and friends was more than a pastime; it was a way for her to connect and share moments of joy.

Described by those who knew her as loving, kind, and funny, Carol's impact on the world was profound. Her gentle approach to life, her ability to listen and her readiness to offer support were qualities that endeared her to all. Carol's presence was a gift, and her memory will continue to inspire and guide us.

As we say farewell to Carol, we do so with hearts full of gratitude for the time we shared with her. Her spirit will live on in the stories we tell, the memories we cherish, and the love she left behind. Carol's journey on this earth may have come to an end, but her influence will be felt for generations to come. She will be deeply missed, yet forever remembered.

A memorial visitation will begin on Friday, December 5, 2025, at 9AM with a funeral Mass to follow at 10:30AM at ST. JAMES CATHOLIC CHURCH, W220N6588 Townline Rd, Menomonee Falls , WI. Private Internment with family.
