Carol Sue Linkous, born November 3, 1931, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was a proud and active member of First Baptist Church of Welch and the American Baptist Women’s Organization.
Sue was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, lovingly known as “Mema” to those who cherished her. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Howard Wise Linkous.
She is survived by her sons, Mark Linkous and his wife, Carmen, of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Robert Lee Linkous and his wife, Annette, of Denver, North Carolina. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Maghan and her husband, Justin; Jennifer; and Austin and his wife, Meagan; as well as her two great-grandsons, Cian and Jackson.
Sue is now reunited with her beloved Howard and rests beside him in the Woodlawn Memorial Cemetery Mausoleum in Bluewell, West Virginia.
