Carol Horne Livingston of Doraville died on January 21, 2026. She was born on January 24, 1945 at Crawford Long Hospital in Atlanta. She attended West Georgia College and Agnes Scott College. She worked for Emory clinic for 10 years and then was a teacher's assistant for 17 years.
Carol was a longtime member of Haygood Memorial United Methodist Church, which she began attending at the age of 7. She attended as a child, youth and adult, and is best remembered for the way she could enliven the discussion at United Methodist Women Circle meetings and retreats, in Sunday School Classes and parties, as well as when telling Bible stories to Vacation Bible School children. She also delighted in being a Confirmation Mentor. She and Charles have a favorite pew, along the eastern wall, where he always joined her once his ushering duties were done.
Her parents Jane Lee Adams Horne and Clarence Rudolph Horne precede her in death
She is survived by her husband, Charles Livingston, granddaughters Caitlyn Livingston, Abbie (Parker) Branch, Charle's children Andy (Peggy) Livingston and Cheryl Livingston; brothers, Marty (Gail) Horne, Rudy (Sharon) Horne and Tim (Jill) Horne. She is also survived by nephews, nieces and great nieces and nephews.
Her greatest joy was her granddaughters Abbie and Caitlyn
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at Haygood Memorial Methodist Church at 11:00 AM
