Carol Lopez
02/06/1960 – 10/04/2022
Carol Lopez, 62, of Dallas, Texas, passed away on October 4,2022 after courageously battling lung cancer. In January 2016, Carol was diagnosed with Stage IV lung cancer and was given 6 months to live. Due to her strong will and determination to live her life, she fought for close to 7 years.
Carol Sue Lopez was born on February 6,1960 to Sarah Jane Moore and Gilbert Cretes Moore in Bucyrus, Ohio. After leaving Ohio and arriving in Dallas Texas, she was married to Efren Lopez for 43 years. Her husband, Efren, adored her and together they taught their children work ethic, tenacity, to never give up, and to make their dreams come true.
Carol Lopez is survived by husband Efren Lopez, son Jeremiah Lopez, and daughters Crystal Lopez and Amaila Lopez Tamayo. Carol Lopez is also survived by her grandchildren Stephanie Lopez, Hailey Lopez, Honesty Lopez, Journey Maldonado, Thomas Carter 'TC', Bella Skye Tamayo, Grace Lopez, and Claire Lopez and great granddaughter Hailey Lopez. Carol Lopez is also survived by her sisters Lola Moore, Ellen Fast, and brother Kelly Moore.
Carol 'Nana' Lopez was a jack of all trades. Carol was a fierce woman holding fast to her beliefs, defending those she loved, and never taking "no" for an answer. She dedicated her whole life to working and going above and beyond for her family. She never looked back and always pushed forward. Her dreams of sticking to her family, living on a ranch and now being back with her mother have come true. Her ambition will live in each of us. She will be missed dearly and will always be loved 'with a golden gate'.
