Carol Ann Lorentsen, born December 21, 1938, in Brooklyn, New York, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2026, in Florida, surrounded by the love of her family.

Carol was born to William J. Couillard and Caroline Henrietta Couillard (Holzberger), who instilled in her the values of love, resilience, and devotion that would later define her life.

Carol was a woman whose love knew no limits and whose heart was large enough to hold generations. She has now reunited in eternal peace with her beloved husband, Frederick J. Lorentsen. Together, they built not just a home, but a legacy of love, strength, and devotion that continues to live on through their family.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Mildred Garza, Marie Forman, Cora Braun, and William Collard. She is survived by her siblings, John Couillard (Loretta Couillard, Keeley) and Judy Mervin, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and her adopted family who were close to her heart.

Carol spent many cherished years in Patchogue, New York, where she lovingly raised her five children: Richard Lorentsen (Debi Lorentsen), Fred Lorentsen (Grace Lorentsen), Deborah Dziegielewski (Greg Dziegielewski), William Lorentsen (Gertrude Lorentsen), and Christine Leslie. She was their foundation-the steady and guiding force who shaped their lives with wisdom, resilience, and unconditional love.

Later in life, Carol moved to Florida to be closer to her children and grandchildren. Family was always her greatest priority, and being surrounded by them brought her immense joy and comfort. She remained the heart of the family, offering guidance, love, and unwavering support to all.

Carol's greatest pride and joy was her family. She was blessed with 19 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren, and 22 great-great-grandchildren. To each of them, she was more than a grandmother-she was comfort, laughter, strength, and unconditional love. She was present, devoted, and endlessly supportive.

Beyond her own family, Carol shared her nurturing spirit with many others as a devoted nanny to children outside of her family. She cared for them as if they were her own, forming lasting bonds and leaving a lasting impression on the lives she helped shape.

A caretaker in every sense of the word, Carol welcomed everyone into her family. Her home was always open, her table always had room for one more, and her heart made space for all. She was truly the glue that held her large and loving family together.

Her strength was quiet but powerful. Her kindness was constant. Her love was immeasurable.

Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy lives on in every life she touched. The values she instilled-love, loyalty, compassion, and togetherness-will continue to guide her family for generations to come.

Carol will be remembered always and forever in the hearts of those who loved her.
