Carol Maines Obituary
Carol lived life with a spirited heart and an adventurous soul. She had a wild-child energy that drew others to her and a deep appreciation for the beauty of nature. She traveled the country several times over, often returning to her favorite places more than once, always seeking new memories and embracing the freedom of the open road.
She is survived by her beloved partner of more than 30 years, Darren Hoover, her steadfast companion in life and travel. Through life's most difficult seasons and its greatest joys, Darren remained faithfully by her side.
She is also survived by her mother, Joan Hullihen of Curwensville; her sister, Gail Glenn; her brothers, Mark and Todd Maines; two nieces; and one nephew.
Above all, Carol cherished her immediate family. She leaves behind her daughter, Melanie Rose; her son, Tom Peters; and her two treasured grandchildren, Gabriel and Eowyn Rose, who will miss her deeply and carry her love forward.
Carol is reunited in peace with her father, William Maines; her brother, William "Bill" Maines; and several lifelong friends whom she held close in her heart.
Honoring Carol's wishes, there will be no formal service at this time. Her family plans to celebrate her life with a memorial gathering in the warmer months, at one of her favorite places, during her favorite season of the year - a fitting tribute to a woman who loved sunshine, adventure, and the beauty of the natural world.
