Carol Ellen Maloney, beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2025, in Livermore, CA. Carol was born in Chicago, Illinois, on November 7, 1943, and grew up in Castro Valley, California. Carol was proud to say she graduated as the valedictorian from her Fairmont Hospital LVN program in 1965. Carol was an LVN nurse for over 20 years but found her true passion when she started working with and caring for young children at KinderCare and ESS in Livermore, CA before retiring in 2001.
Carol's love for her family was unwavering and she cared deeply for them, especially her grandkids. She often said the best title she ever had was grandma. She enjoyed collecting Coca Cola memorabilia and attending the Nutcracker annually at Christmas.
Carol is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Don; children, Jill Groth of Palm Springs, and Matt Maloney of Livermore; grandchildren, Keely, Michael, and John Maloney of Livermore; siblings, Charles, Robert, John and Samantha Eggers; She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Her service will be held at St. Michael's Church, 458 Maple Street, Livermore, CA 94550, on Wednesday April 16, 2025, at 11:00 AM, followed by burial at St. Michael's Cemetery, 3885 East Avenue, Livermore, CA 94550, at 1:30 PM. The family asks that in lieu of flowers you make a donation in her name to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
