Carol McAndrew Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cantelmi Long Funeral Home - Bethlehem on Jan. 18, 2026.
Carol Churi McAndrew, 81, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully at her home on January 15, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on May 19, 1944, in Dover, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late John Sr. and Helen (Talyain) Churi.

Carol was a graduate of Dunmore High School, Class of 1962, and went on to earn her Bachelor of Arts degree from Moravian College. She dedicated much of her professional life to serving others as a social worker at Allentown State Hospital, where her compassion and quiet dedication touched countless lives. She later retired after many years of faithful service.

A woman of gentle spirit and steady faith, Carol was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Bethlehem. Her faith, kindness, and humble nature guided her throughout her life.

Above all else, Carol treasured her family. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and found her greatest joy in time spent with those she loved. She is survived by her son, Robert McAndrew, Jr.; her daughter, Shannon McAndrew; and her cherished granddaughter, Alisha McAndrew. She is also survived by her siblings, Marilyn Smarkusky; John Churi, Jr. and his wife Marianne; and Colette Menichello, along with many beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her brothers-in-law, John Smarkusky and Mark Menichello.

Carol will be remembered for her gentle heart, quiet strength, and unwavering love for her family. Her presence brought comfort, warmth, and peace to those around her, and her memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
