Edward McAndrew Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Neil W Regan Funeral Home Inc on Mar. 4, 2026.
Edward Joseph McAndrew, 82, died Saturday, February 28, at Oak Ridge Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. He and his wife, the former Rosemary Stevens, would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in May.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Edward F. and Emma Reidenbach McAndrew. A graduate of Scranton Central High School, he attended East Stroudsburg University. Ed was employed as a circulation manager for the Scranton Tribune prior to his retirement.

Ed enjoyed sports and took particular pride in scoring a hole-in-one in golf and bowling two perfect games. He was a longtime fan of the New York Giants, the New York Yankees, the Boston Celtics, and Notre Dame football. He volunteered as a coach for St. Mary's Biddy Basketball and Connell Park Teener Baseball, sharing his interest in sports with young athletes in the community. He was also a member of the "606 Club."

Ed was a devoted and caring father, husband, grandfather, and great-grandfather who will be remembered with love by his family and friends.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters: Lori Hunter and husband Phil, Scranton; and Tammy Robeson and husband Tank (Paul) Lake Ariel; three grandchildren, Trevor Robeson and wife, Brianna; and Tara Fitzgerald and husband, Kevin, all of Lake Ariel; and Megan Hunter and companion, Steven Paszek, Scranton; four great-grandchildren, Quinn, Naomi, and Michael Robeson, and Kevin Fitzgerald IV; a fifth great-grandchild expected soon, Mathew Grey Fitzgerald; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ed's family would like to thank the second-floor staff of Oak Ridge Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center for their wonderful care of him.

The funeral will be Friday, March 6, at 9:30 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial at Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 801 Taylor Ave.

Friends may call Thursday, March 5, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Neil W. Regan Funeral Home, Inc., 1900 Pittston Ave.

Those attending Mass on Friday are asked to proceed directly to the church.
