Carol Ann McCloud, of Bayville, New Jersey, passed away unexpectedly on February 20, 2022. Carol was born on June 25, 1953, in Brooklyn, New York to the late Richard and Jewel McCloud. She was the third, and only girl, of six children from this union. Carol graduated from Sheepshead Bay High School in Coney Island, NY. She attended Hunter College majoring in music. Carol was a Senior Executive Coordinator, in the nursing department at New York University Medical Center in Manhattan, New York, and finally at National Starch in Bridgewater, New Jersey. In 1979 Carol moved to Avenel, New Jersey. And finally, Carol relocated to Bayville, New Jersey.
An ultimate songbird, Carol held the distinction of being the star singer in the off-Broadway play, "Mama I Want to Sing." She also performed on-stage with Shirley Caesar, The Williams Brothers, The Mighty Clouds of Joy, The Pilgrim Jubilees, The Hawkins Singers and James Cleveland to name a few. She travelled up and down the east coast, singing at weddings and in prisons. She lit up every venue in which she performed and every church in which she fellowshipped, including her father's Little Mission Church of God, Inc. at 923 Pacific Street, Brooklyn NY. Anyone who saw her performances knew that she could really, really blow. Now that Carol "MY Baby" has stepped into Heaven's gates, I'm sure the Heavenly choir will have to be re-arranged to adjust to her phenomenal voice and presence.
Carol's ultimate passions were her family and friends. She enjoyed organizing cookouts in her backyard where her barbeque spareribs (that fell off the bone and melted in your mouth) were legendary. She was the life of these cookouts. Unbeknownst to many, Carol's hobbies included playing the bass guitar, to give Shilise a break when Shilise had to sing. Carol also loved to play the game 'Word Cookies' on her cell phone to pass the time of day. Benjamin, Darrell and Carol were a pack. They spoke to each other every day on a 3-way call, on their cell phones. They truly loved each other. Carol will be forever in their hearts.
Carol (My Baby#9) was so full of life. The first time she met someone she treated them as though she had known them for years. Take your rest now, Carol (My Baby #9). An incomparable person, Carol was truly one of a kind. Love you forever, and as your mother would say, it's never good-bye. See you later, your loving husband, John Lane#9.
Carol is survived by her children; Shilise Lane and John Lane, Jr. and their step-brother John Ramsey; Her daughter -in-law Susan Lane; her three brothers Benjamin E. McCloud, Darrell H. McCloud and Daniel A McCloud; Sister-inlaw Rosa McCloud; grandchildren, Angela Lane, John Lane III, and Jade Ramsey; her Aunt Caroline Ferguson, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Carol is predeceased by her parents, Richard and Jewel McCloud, brothers Richard D McCloud Jr., Tyrone McCloud, Terry McCloud, Roger McCloud, and her sister, Minerva McCloud.
The People Special to Carol include Bob Hunter, Desiree Pilgrim-Hunter, Cassandra "K.K." Hunter, Pastors Glenda Pollard, Pastor Morant, Pastor Williamson, Co-Pastor lady Williamson, Apostle Ralph Edwards, Prophetess Edwards, Pastor Pena, Deacon Will Hopkins, Benjamin Mack, Chavez Mitchell, Edward and Anna Posherstnik to name a few. However, everyone was special to Carol
There will be a viewing for Carol on Monday, March 7, 2022 from 6-9pm at Mastapeter Memorial Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd, Bayville, NJ 08721. Meeting at the Funeral Home on March 8 from 10am-1pm before leaving for a burial at 1:30 at Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River.

I Didn't know that my friend, my sister, Carol A. McCloud had gone to be with the Lord..I remember the times we shared at her father's church, The Little Mission in Brooklyn, NY... We both shared the passion for Gospel Singing as we were both professional child performers.... Her infectious smile will always be remembered..

I miss you so much mommy! You will always be in my heart. You are the best mother I could every have and nothing is going to change that. I really wish you was still here. I love you so much and I know you know that.
