Carol Lynn Meyer was born on January 11, 1950, in Denison, Iowa, the daughter of Roy and Frances (Reincke) Wiegel. She was baptized on February 6, 1950, and confirmed on March 22, 1964, at St. John Lutheran Church in Charter Oak. Carol received her education from the Charter Oak Community Schools and graduated with the class of 1968.

On June 7, 1975, Carol was united in marriage to Bruce “B.H.” Meyer at St. John Lutheran Church in Charter Oak. The couple was blessed with three children and made their home near Ricketts. Carol dedicated many years to caring for others through her work. She was employed at Mutual of Omaha for seven years, worked as a cook at the Charter Oak Senior Center and Iowa Beef Processors, and later served as a CNA with Eventide, Crawford County Home Health, and the Reed House. In 2018, she retired after a long and fulfilling career.

Carol was a faithful member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Soldier Township, near Ricketts. She gave generously of her time, volunteering with the Ricketts Fire Department as a first responder for over 18 years and the American Legion Auxiliary for more than 45 years. In her free time, Carol enjoyed reading and working on puzzle books. She found great joy in cooking and baking for her family and had a special fondness for sunflowers and the simple happiness they brought her. Above all, Carol treasured her family. She cherished every moment spent together and took great pride in creating lasting memories with her grandchildren.

Carol passed away on March 26, 2026, at her home near Ricketts at the age of 76 years, two months and 15 days. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Gary (Connie) Wiegel; in-laws: Herb and Leona Meyer; and sister-in-law, Betty Pieper.

Carol is survived by her husband of over 50 years, Bruce “B.H.” Meyer of Ricketts; children: Derek (Amanda) Meyer, Darin Meyer and Deanna (Randy) Kruse all of Charter Oak; four grandchildren: Jayden, Jodee, Tristan and Josie; brother, Kenny (Diane) Wiegel of Ida Grove; siblings-in-law: Michael (Lois) Meyer, Myrna Meyer, Bryce (Laurie) Meyer and Marc Meyer; and many other family members and friends.

Visitation with family and friends will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with a prayer at 7:00 p.m., on Monday, March 30, 2026, at the Huebner Funeral Home in Charter Oak. Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Soldier Township, near Charter Oak with burial to follow in the St. Paul Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to an organization of the choice or may be given to the family for designation at a later time.
