Scott James Woolridge was born on January 1, 1956, in Ida Grove, Iowa, the son of Richard and Florence (Gemmill) Woolridge. He was baptized on February 11, 1956, at the Methodist Church in Ida Grove. Scott graduated from Ida Grove High School in 1974 and attended Northwestern College for two years.
On September 1, 2006, Scott was united in marriage to Karla (Schultz) Bohlmann in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, where the two shared a wonderful time celebrating their marriage.
Scott lived in Ida Grove for 50 years. He dedicated many years of service to his community, serving 13 years with the ambulance service and 17 years with the fire department. Over the years he worked at Gemmill Electric and Midwest Industries for 17 years. He also served for a decade with the Iowa State Patrol District 4 office in Denison, where he handled custodial and groundskeeping duties. He later worked in the meat department at Hy-Vee before becoming a driver at Eventide, where he remained until retiring in 2018.
Scott was an avid Oklahoma Sooners football fan. Scott was known for his deep Christian faith and trust in the Lord. He loved people, making friends wherever he went, and was well known for his humor and quick wit. He also loved singing—no matter what someone said, Scott could find a song to match it. He enjoyed working on jigsaw puzzles of all kinds and helping Chuck and the church with construction projects.
Scott passed away on March 10, 2026, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Sioux City at the age of 70 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Florence Woolridge, and his brother, David Woolridge.
He is survived by his wife, Karla Woolridge of Denison; his son, Josh (Kristen) Woolridge of Cromwell, Connecticut; his daughter, Noelle Woolridge of Lincoln, Nebraska; his stepdaughters, Miranda (Eric) Hennings of Denison and Natalie (Justin) Kramme of Oshkosh, Wisconsin; six grandchildren, Maggie Hennings, Lily Ward, Ryan Hennings, Samantha Woolridge, Steven Woolridge, and Arthur Kramme; his sister, Diana (Wayne) Nielsen of Lake View; along with nieces, nephews, extended family members, and his Bibles and Brew Crew.
Visitation with family greeting friends will be held on Monday, March 16, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Denison. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at 10:30 a.m., also at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Denison. Burial will take place at St. John Lutheran Cemetery near Kiron.
