Carol Kathleen Miller

Carol Kathleen Miller was born on October 1,1942, in her home in Hyndman, Pennsylvania to Eugene and Mary Rizer. She graduated from Hyndman High School at seventeen and headed to Washington D.C. and began her Civil Service career with the Federal Government. She soon met her beloved husband, Dick Miller, on a blind date on Valentine's Day in 1974. That night, they enjoyed pizza and a cold beer and began their lifelong journey together. They married May 31st that same year and she became a stepmother to three active school aged boys, John, Chuck, and Matt. Later in 1977, Carol and Dick welcomed their daughter, Jenni. Carol was an administrative assistant in many capacities but finished her career in the Fairfax County Public School System supporting the physical and occupational therapists. Carol was a friend to all she met and loved all those that she surrounded herself around. She took pride in her work and always willing to drop everything to help those she cared about. She walked with God and practiced his teachings in her daily life. Carol was preceded in death by her husband of almost 50 years, Richard (Dick) Miller, by her brothers Wayne Rizer (Ella May) and Donald Rizer (Alice). She is survived by her sister Mary Jane Brewster (Larry) and her children, John Miller (Michelle), Chuck Miller (Kris), Matt Miller (Dana), and Jennifer Miller. Lots of her joy in her later years stemmed from her grandchildren, Forrest Miller, Justine McGiboney, Samantha Yarbrough, Mark Miller, Addisan Taylor, Campbell Taylor, and Connall Taylor. Three great grandchildren were welcomed into this world during her final chapter with dementia that she will be looking after from up above, Theodore and Liam McGiboney and Murphy Yarbrough. She will be missed by all. A visitation and funeral service were held to honor and celebrate her life on October 20, 2025, in Richmond, VA. Interment, Dale Memorial Park.
