Carol Ann Ortman, 89, of Peoria, peacefully passed away after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease on Monday, January 5, 2026, at Grand View Special Care Center in Peoria. She was born in Edgerton, WI on October 2, 1936, to Arthur and Gertrude (Koch) Kruckenberg. She married Edward Ortman, Jr. on June 8, 1957, and they enjoyed 57 years of marriage until his passing on July 15, 2014.

She is survived by her three sons, Danny Ortman of Bartonville, Tom (Linda) Ortman of Moberly, MO, and Robert Ortman of East Peoria; her sister, Rosemary Treuhardt of Janesville, WI; 7 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Chester.

Carol worked for Crescent Electric in inside sales for many years.

She belonged to St. Monica Catholic Church in East Peoria, where she was active in the St. Monica Ladies Guild. She was an avid bowler and was a part of St. Monica's church league, The Flying Nuns.

Carol cherished being a grandma and loved cheering her grandkids on at their sporting events. She also enjoyed spending vacations in Northern Wisconsin and had a deep love for her golden retrievers.

Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at Gary Deiters Funeral Home in East Peoria. A Funeral Mass is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 9, 2026, at St. Monica Catholic Church in East Peoria, with additional visitation from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service. Fr. Matt Deptula will officiate. Burial will follow at Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria.

Memorial contributions may be made to Mary Mother of God Parish or the Alzheimer's Association. Online condolences may be left at www.GaryDeitersFH.com.
