Roy Winemiller Obituary
Roy was born in Peoria on September 7, 1946, to Verner and Louise (Joos) Winemiller. He married his wife of nearly 30 years, Elvia Winemiller, in Washington on December 24, 1996; she survives.
Also surviving are his children, Max (Liz) Winemiller of Winnetka, Molly Bonney of Mobank, TX, Paola Rojo of Peoria, Daniel Rojo of East Peoria, Alejandra Rojo of Arizona, and Kathya Rojo of Mexico; 3 siblings, Larry Winemiller, Rex (Paula) Winemiller, and Karen (Robert) Gustafson, all of Washington; and 9 grandchildren, Faith, Lydia, Damiana, Tessa, Natalie, Vincent, Noah, Mila, and Santiago.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Roy graduated from WCHS in 1964 before attending Eureka College. In 1966, he joined the Air Force, stationed throughout the world, including two tours in Vietnam. After his military service, he served as President of Dove Equipment in East Peoria.
Active in the community, Roy served as President and Past President of the East Peoria Chamber of Commerce. He enjoyed fishing and loved his dogs, especially Luna.
In accordance with Roy's wishes, private burial will be at Hillcrest Memory Gardens in Morton. Gary Deiters Funeral Home & Cremation Services in East Peoria is assisting the family.
