Carol Parer

Carol Ann Parer passed away on November 15, 2025. She was 92 years old.

Carol was born and raised in Monroe, Michigan, and has also lived in Toledo, Ohio, Galesburg, Illinois, and Palatine. She worked most of her life as registered nurse in hospitals and nursing homes. She volunteered at the Sparrow's Nest and the Nurse's Closet in Palatine for several years. She was a member of the Nurse's Club for years.

Her special interests were bowling, playing cards, sewing baby blankets, reading memoirs, going to lunch with friends, and traveling. She was a long time parishioner and proud member of St. Thomas of Villanova Church. Most importantly, she was a breast cancer survivor.

Beloved wife of 62 years to the late Joseph C; Adored mother of Jeff, Lisa, and Marty; Cherished grandmother of Andy, Ashley, Amanda, Genna, Joline, and T.J., and great grandmother to June, Colette, Beatrice, Nora, Joseph, Lucas, Esme, Arthur, Mae, and Ellie; Loving daughter of the late Andrew and the late Dorothy Soleau; Doting sister of Doug Soleau and Jean Gurski; Fond aunt and friend to many.

Visitation Thursday, November 20, 2025, from 10AM until time of Mass, 11AM, at St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 1201 E. Anderson Dr., Palatine. Interment to follow at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home. For info, 847-359-8020.
